United Neighborhood Houses plays a key role in helping to improve the lives of New Yorkers in need and the communities in which they live. We're proud to have supported their online presence for 8+ years, which has included a logo refresh, a site redesign & rebuild, and a website reorganization & structure cleanup.
At the beginning of our partnership, the United Neighborhood Houses (UNH) website had dozens of duplicate pages and menus, with many leading to outdated content (or content intended to be "internal only"). The site's code was also outdated -- it was time for a modern redesign!
Our team completed a site content restructure along with a redesign which included new visual identity and branding. We approached the content reorganization & restructure keeping their various audiences in mind--creating a structure that search engines and users would appreciate. We believe this is the best and most effective strategy. It was important for their most valuable content to become easier to find & navigate, while also introducing the new functionality that would enhance the overall usability of their site.
Our team also rebuilt their secured-member login areas, and built a custom Document Library with the ability to be searched and filtered by site users. As users have interacted with the Document Library and UNH's need has evolved over time, the library has also evolved to include critical reports, testimonies, and press releases that have informed New York City and New York State decision-makers.
UNH's site includes several customized client-editing modules for their team members to easily update the most frequently changing areas of their site without the use of code. All site elements were configured utilizing important UX strategies (user-experience).
